Rockstable AI Leaders Programme · Unit 1 of 3

AI Strategy and Opportunity

Build a strategy you would stand behind in the room

Six modules that take a leadership-sized problem from first framing to a stakeholder-ready strategy - with AI as research assistant, sceptic and sparring partner along the way.

Free for UK employees on PAYE

This is a government-approved apprenticeship unit (AU0009), carrying £750 of public funding per learner. Smaller employers pay nothing, and levy payers fund it from their Growth and Skills Levy account - so for eligible UK employees there is no cost to the learner.

Delivered in partnership with Working Knowledge as apprenticeship provider. View AU0009 on the Skills England register

Six modules, one real outcome

Each module works on your organisation's own challenge - you leave with work you can use, not just notes.
1
Plan the Work

Structure the problem before you solve it

Most strategy fails before it starts, because no one framed the problem properly. You'll learn to break a leadership-sized problem into parts AI can genuinely help with, and to plan the work before diving in - so AI answers the question you actually meant to ask.

Example outcomes you can expect:

  • A sharp problem statement for the challenge you choose
  • A step-by-step plan for the work ahead
2
Research

Get the evidence before you get the opinion

Strategy built on a hunch is a guess in a nicer font. You'll learn which AI research tools suit which job, and how to check what they tell you before you trust it - so you build evidence you can defend in the room.

Example outcomes you can expect:

  • A defensible evidence base on your chosen landscape
  • A clear view of which findings you can trust
3
Synthesise

Turn research into a point of view

Research only counts if you do something with it. You'll cut a pile of findings down to the few themes that matter, and build a reusable knowledge base that makes every future AI conversation sharper - so you grasp the problem better than anyone in the room.

Example outcomes you can expect:

  • The three to five themes that truly matter
  • A reusable knowledge base you'll return to
4
Find Your Perspective

Use AI as a thinking partner, not an oracle

AI is at its best as a sounding board, not an oracle. You'll put your half-formed view in front of an AI playing your toughest sceptic, and sharpen it under pressure until it's a position you would genuinely stand behind.

Example outcomes you can expect:

  • A point of view you'd stand behind under challenge
  • Answers ready before the objections land
5
Shape the Strategy

Apply a real framework, not a vibe

A real strategy needs a real framework, not a vibe. You'll pick the one that fits your problem - Blue Ocean, OKRs, Theory of Change - and work with AI to map, review and refine it. You'll end with a structured strategy, not a wish list.

Example outcomes you can expect:

  • A structured strategy on a recognised framework
  • A plan with shape, not a list of ambitions
6
Bring It to Life

Ship something a stakeholder will read

The best strategy is worthless in a document no one opens. You'll learn to brief AI on audience, tone and brand, and produce a polished, stakeholder-ready version of your strategy.

Example outcomes you can expect:

  • A stakeholder-ready strategy document or deck
  • Something you can put in front of whoever says yes
