This is a government-approved apprenticeship unit (AU0011), carrying £750 of public funding per learner. Smaller employers pay nothing, and levy payers fund it from their Growth and Skills Levy account - so for eligible UK employees there is no cost to the learner.
Delivered in partnership with Working Knowledge as apprenticeship provider. View AU0011 on the Skills England register
Find and frame a real use case
You'll identify, rank and frame a genuine use case - not a demo, something that would actually change how work gets done - and place it against what's really emerging now, so you pick something real rather than the loudest thing this month. You'll define what 'done' looks like.
Example outcomes you can expect:
Work out who this actually changes
Every use case changes people, not just process. You'll assess who it affects - which roles shift, who's at risk, what it means for suppliers or excluded groups - and reckon honestly with how people will react, so you plan for it rather than be surprised by it.
Example outcomes you can expect:
Build the plan to bring people with you
You'll design the plan that turns intent into people actually changing what they do: reskilling, role redesign and communications. You'll map what can run locally, what needs real budget, and what should stay human whatever the technology allows.
Example outcomes you can expect:
Keep it under control once it's live
You'll set up control for AI once it's live: monitoring, escalation, incident response. Because it's real money, you'll build a cost plan too - providers earn from usage, and new models tend to mean more spend, not less - so you stay in control before the invoice arrives.
Example outcomes you can expect:
Watch it properly, not just hope
You'll build the monitoring layer: dashboards, drift and bias detection, thresholds, playbooks. You'll think in horizons - what to watch now, what's coming next - so you're not always reacting after change has landed. It runs on a Monday morning, not a one-off report.
Example outcomes you can expect:
Take it outside the room
You'll translate your work for people who weren't in the room - your board, customers, a regulator, a funder - turning detail into a briefing that lands with a non-technical audience. AI argues the toughest objection, so you walk in already prepared.
